About our Ranking System:

One of the things about our club is the unique method of rank advancement! I realize as a student of the Martial Arts we are exposed to many lessons within the style we are studying. While we use the color belt method (See General Ranking)- students can take an average 5-6 years to be eligible for their Black Belt.

Each student rank is awarded based on time and improvement on each of the lessons learned. As students move along in the program, they will move from Beginner level to Intermediate level then the advanced level.

Upon reaching the advanced level, students based on age may be able to test directly for Black Belt or move to a Black Belt Candidate rank. Either way there is 1 year to prepare for the Black Belt test.

While the journey takes time and effort, all they have to do is pass a written test covering many things they have been exposed during their classes and of course pass the physical test which would consist of demonstrating everything they have learned during the 5-6 years of training. Since I run a small club and have been teaching since 1991 I have only promoted 7 Black Belts and 3 of them went on to earn their 2nd Degree Black Belts and 2 have earned their 3rd Degree Black Belts. I look forward to your training and hope to see more Black Belts in the future.
